Raino Fluegge

Born near Hamburg, Germany, my involvement with the German Shepherd Dog began in 1974. In 1976 I joined the SV.
I became a member for 26 years of the OG Winsen/Luhe (LG1) Additionally in 1976 I earned 179 titles on 20 different dogs at club,
regional and national levels. My years with that club in Winsen were well served; 26 years as a helper/decoy, 20 years as the training
director and 12 years as president of the club. My skills as helper gave me the opportunity to dedicate over 10 years as teaching
helper in my region. In addition I served for 5 years as Regional delegate member for the SV annual meetings.
For 4 years I was the Vice Training Director for the LG and was responsible for the training of new teaching helpers, judges
and also creating training programs.
I breed under the Kennel name "vom Kiebitzende" and my breeding program for working dogs has been successful.
More than 75% of the dogs we bred are titled. Since 2003 every year dogs from my kennel competed at the Canadian Nationals.
In 2006 one of our breedings won the Universal Sieger title and in 2007 the best Canadian bred dog came “vom Kiebitzende”
Even if I breed working dogs, I always respect the members who compete in shows. I handled at least 160 dogs in shows myself.
The biggest success was V19 at the German Siegershow and prepare this dog for the WUSV World Championship.
Also I prepared the Canadian Siegerin in 2002.
In the years following I was a competitor as well as a lecturer presenting seminars about the sport in more than 14 countries.
I have attained the WUSV Sports Medal and have been an SV Working Dog Judge since 1994.
I have judged internationally on many occasions and in more then 14 countries. My first visit to Canada was in 1998 as a judge
at a working trial. In 2001 I moved with my family to Saint John, New Brunswick and joined the
German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada as a member and a working judge. Also in 2001, I joined the young
Fundy Schutzhund Club( FSC). At that time I was helper and trainer with the Fundy Club.
From 2002 to 2007 I was organizer, helper and 3 times competitor with 3 different dogs at the Canadian Championships.
In 2003/04 and 2007 I became head judge for the GSSCC. Since summer 2005, I’m the President of the German Shepherd Schutzhund
Club of Canada and in 2006 I became Team Captain Canada for the GSSCC.
With moving to Prince Edward Island in June 2008 I became a member of the PEI SC and hope to help to establish another strong
Schutzhund club in Eastern Canada.
